The Ogun State Police Command says flash points in Ogun State will be taken over by security personnel during the coming Muslim festival (Eid-el Adha).

The command also said that that the police and sister agencies would patrol the state, adding that there would be stop-and-search.

In a statement on Saturday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Omotola Odutola said that plain-cloth detectives and men of the anti-bomb ordinance unit would ensure nothing posed a risk to residents.

According to her, adequate security would be deployed in all prayer grounds “to ensure polite and firm screening of ingress and egress of persons, vehicles, luggage, at various official lecture venues”.

Assuring that crack policemen would ensure a hitch-free Sallah celebration, Odutola said that “anyone or group that has planned to foment trouble does that at his or her peril and the detriment of his, or her peace”.

She admonished residents of the state to enjoy the festivity, warning them to avoid disturbances or offending the public.

Odutola stated that the command had “granted permission” to slaughtering of rams only, not killing, shooting”.
