In pursuit of the proposed Lagos Film City, which is coming up in a 100-hectare space in Ejirin community, Epe division, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu visited the Trilith Studios in Atlanta, United States at the weekend.
Announcing the project in May last year, Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf said it would boost the creative and entertainment industry.
According to her, the Film City, which is a Public-Private Partnership initiative, would offer a one-stop business platform for filmmakers, entertainers and originators of creative ideas to carry out their trades without interference by agencies of Government and the public.
The facility is envisioned as a sanctuary of leisure, entertainment, and learning; a place where film and all types of creative industry professionals can live, work, and learn in a serene and conducive environment with best-in-class facilities intermingled with amenities and infrastructure that support a modern sustainable city.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also had audience with the Mayor of Atlanta, Mr Andre Dickens.
