SDP felicitates ex-Education Minister, Adeniran @80

In celebrating a former Minister of Education, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, who turned 80 on Monday, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has described him as a ‘distinguished scholar with a record of many books and internationally-acclaimed academic papers to his name, a true Nigerian patriot, respected elder statesman’.

In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, the party said Adeniran is ‘a great leader who has made remarkable contributions to national development’.

According to the statement said, the acting National Chairman, Dr. Sadìq Umar Abubakar Gombe, on behalf of the party’s National Working Committee, and the SDP family across Nigeria, celebrates Adeniran, who it said is ‘going the octogenarian club by divine grace’.

SDP recalled that the elder statesman was  the pioneer Secretary (and later, Chairman) of the Mass Mobilisation for Self Reliance, Social Justice, and Economic Recovery (MAMSER), former Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission, pioneer Minister of Education of the Fourth Republic, former Ambassador Plenipotentiary to Germany, among ‘many other high and strategic positions of responsibility, where he served the country meritoriously with trademark transparency and finesse’.

The party  further said: ‘As an epitome of manifest integrity and a man with unyielding spirit of patriotism, the SDP cherishes the inspiring, transformatìve and exemplary leadership that he provided for the party under his watch as our National Chairman, and his remarkable contributions to national development, and the good of Africa and betterment of humanity in general.

‘The party proudly recommends the public life and noble cherished value system of Prof. Tunde Adeniran, KWJ, OFR, as a case study for today’s politicians and public office holders in service with his characteristic integrity and finesse.

‘The SDP wishes this greatly esteemed omoluabi national political figure, a recognised conscience of the nation and voice of truth, a long life in good health and all-round fulfilment’.
