Super Eagles caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen has insisted Monday’s 2-1 shocking home loss to Rwanda will not work against his team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The West Africans will clash with the Amavubi when the 2026 World Cup qualifiers resume in March 2025.

Eguavoen claimed the defeat to the East Africans in Uyo wouldn’t affect his side’s performance in Kigali.

“This won’t affect (Nigeria for the World Cup qualifiers),” a deflated Eguavoen maintained.

“We have learnt a hard lesson, we will evaluate and have the strategies to face them.”

The Super Eagles are winless in Group C with three draws and one defeat in four games.

The three-time champions occupy fifth position in the group with three points.
