Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men!

The aforementioned biblical wisecrack readily conveys the kind of admiration and respect the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has continued to command everywhere goes or at the mention of his name.

A word of commendation came Sanwo-Olu’s way at the just concluded National Parliamentary Summit held at the Lagos State University, Ojo, where speaker after speaker took turns to shower him with praises.

Expectedly, the governor was being applauded for his achievements with the T.H.E.M.E.S+ agenda especially in the areas of education and technology.

Using his governance template encapsulated in the T.H.E.M.E.S+ agenda, Sanwo-Olu has ensured that every nook and cranny of the state has enjoyed the largesse and the dividends of democracy.

The T.H.E.M.E.S+ stands for Transportation and Traffic Management; Health and Environment; Education and Technology; Making Lagos State a 21st Century Megacity; Entertainment and Tourism; Security and Governance; while the “plus”, which was included at the onset of the governor’s second term, represents Social Inclusion, Gender Equality and Youth.

The event, organised by the Students’ Parliamentary Council of the Lagos State University Students’ Union was attended by Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, among other dignitaries.

At the summit last Thursday, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Basic and Secondary Education, Opeyemi Eniola urged attendees to protect the state’s heritage and infrastructure against destruction.

While emphasising the importance of preserving key structures and landmarks that hold significant historical value to the state, Eniola reiterated that he is proud to highlight the achievements of Mr. Governor, especially in the areas of education and technology.

“Under the leadership of Mr. Governor, we have seen significant investments in our educational system, leading to improved infrastructure and quality of education for our students. Additionally, the governor has championed the use of technology to enhance service delivery and promote economic growth in our state”, he added.

The former student leader highlighted the government’s commitment to providing quality education and promoting technological advancement in Lagos State.

He also encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunities available to them and contribute positively to the growth and development of the state.

With Sanwo-Olu in charge, Lagos is on greater heights.
