Super Falcons’ Echegini wins Serie A talented youngster award

Nigeria Super Falcons Star, Jennifer Echegini, has won the eBay MVP award for the best Under 23 player in the women’s Serie A.

The Juventus star got the recognition given to the most outstanding young talent in the league.

Echegini, who started her youth career in Arsenal before having a short spell with two clubs in the US, arrived in Turin in January and hit the ground running.

A Monday statement titled, “eBay MVP, Echegini Is The Best Under 23 In Serie A”, revealed this.

This accolade celebrates the skill, dedication, and impact of the league’s rising stars, highlighting their contributions to their teams and the competition as a whole.

The statement read, “Jennifer Onyi Echegini has a decisive impact on the reality of Juventus Women.

“Having arrived in Turin last January directly from the United States, the midfielder born in 2001 took very little time to settle into the new reality, scoring 10 goals and 1 assist in 16 appearances.

“Numbers that have earned her, in just a few months, the title of eBay MVP as the best Under 23 in the women’s Serie A in the season just ended, evidenced by a dedicated commemorative plaque that will be delivered at the beginning of next season. Congratulations, Joe!”

The midfielder, bringing her dynamic play and international experience to the squad, has a multicultural background that adds a unique dimension to her football journey.

Echegini was born in the Netherlands and raised in London, England, she has been exposed to diverse footballing cultures and styles.

Echegini was part of the Nigeria women’s team that reached the Round of 16 in the 2023 FIFA Women World Cup jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
