The Lagos State Police Command has clarified that restrictions on movement for the bye-elections scheduled for Saturday (tomorrow) in Lagos would only affect Surulere Federal Constituency I.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Superintendent Benjamin Hundeyin, however, noted that Funsho Williams Avenue would be free for passage only.
While emphasising that movement into and out of feeder roads off Funsho Williams Avenue would not be permitted, Hundeyin reiterated that other parts of the state are not affected by the restriction of movement in Surulere Federal Constituency I.
The command’s spokesman said on his verified X handle on Friday: “This is to announce to the general public that during the bye-election scheduled for Saturday, 3rd February 2024, there will be restriction of movement in the election area, Surulere Federal Constituency I only.
“However, Funsho Williams Avenue will be free for passage only. Movement into and out of feeder roads off Funsho Williams Avenue will not be permitted.
“For other parts of Lagos State, there is absolutely no restriction of movement”.
