Maryam Apaokagi aka Taaooma, Broda Shaggi and Basketmouth were among the outstanding comedians nominated for the maiden edition of the Nigeria Comedy Awards (NCA).
The award ceremony, which aims to honour the outstanding achievements in Nigeria’s comedy industry, is scheduled for 24 September at Eko Conference Centre.
Other nominees include Mercy Johnson, Tomama, Real Warri Pikin, Kenny Blaq, Sabinus, Battle on Bukka Street, Mr Macaroni, Bovi, My Flatmates, Helen Paul, Passport, Ajebo, Success, Jude OC, Bimbo Ademoye, Yaw, Kirikiru, Powski, Solomon VI, Dada Adekola, The Johnsons, Josh2Funny, Charles Inojie among others.
According to Co-Executive Producer, NCA, Wole Adenuga, the much-awaited event will also recognise content creators whose work has made a great impact in Nigeria’s Comedy Industry cutting across Stand-up Comedy, TV Series, Radio, Online Skits, Movies, Actors, Animation, and other areas.
“As the event draws nearer, we are well aware of the high level of anticipation by nominees, as well as their fans across Nigeria and worldwide”, Adenuga said.
