Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has described his mobile phone as an indispensable work tool, saying he cannot afford to be separated from it because of the thousands of contacts stored on the device.
The President of Dangote Group made the remarks during a media briefing, where he discussed his daily business activities and reliance on constant communication to manage his extensive interests.
Dangote said losing access to his phone would be more difficult for him than going to prison, citing the large number of contacts he relies on for business and professional engagements.
“I think it’s easier to put me in prison than to take my phone away. Taking my phone is a no-go area. I have more than 13 thousand contacts on my phone,” he said.
The billionaire explained that his phone contains more than 13,000 contacts, including business associates, partners and other stakeholders across the world.
His business interests span several sectors and countries, making regular communication essential to coordinating operations, maintaining relationships and managing business commitments.
Dangote’s remarks highlight the importance of direct communication in overseeing a vast business empire with operations and partnerships across multiple markets.
