Tinubu appoints 8 new board members for CreditCorp

President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of eight new members to the Board of Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP).

In a press statement on Wednesday, by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu said the appointment is to further expedite the process of expanding consumer credit access to Nigerians.

Part of the statement reads; “To further expedite the process of expanding consumer credit access to Nigerians, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of the following qualified Nigerians to the Board of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP)”.

The appointees are: Otunba Aderemi Abdul as Board Chairman (Independent Non-Executive Director), Engr. Uzoma Nwagba as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Aisha Abdullahi as Executive Director (Credit, Risk & Portfolio)/CRO and Ms. Olanike Kolawole as Executive Director (Operations)/COO

Others are Dr. Armstrong Ume Takang as Non-Executive Director of Ministry of Finance, Incorporated (MOFI), Dr. Peter Iwegbu, Non-Executive Director of National Identity Management Commission (NIMC); Mr. Mohammed Nasiru Abbas as Non-Executive Director of Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI); Mr. Marvin Nadah as Non-Executive Director of Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) and as representative of the Federal Ministry of Finance (FMF) will also serve as a Non-Executive Director on the board.

The President expects the new members of the Board to bring their vast experience, competence, and dedication to bear in their functions to achieve CREDICORP’s mandate of accelerating access to consumer credit to millions of Nigerians.
