President Bola Tinubu has appointed Muhammad Babangida, son of the former military President, General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd.) as Chairman of the revamped Bank of Agriculture.
Muhammad, 53, is the Chairman of Profile Group, Executive Director of El-Amin International School, and a non-executive director at Lotus Bank.
He is an alumnus of the European University in Montreux, Switzerland, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Public Relations and Business Communication. He later attended Harvard Business School’s Executive Program on Corporate Governance in 2002.
According to a statement by the President’s spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, he approved the appointment on Friday along with seven others at various government organisations. They are:
- Lydia Kalat Musa (from Kaduna State): Chairman of Oil and Gas Free Zone Authority
- Jamilu Wada Aliyu (Kano State): Chairman of the National Educational Research and Development Council
- Hon. Yahuza Ado Inuwa (Kano State): Chairman of Standard Organisation of Nigeria
- Sanusi Musa, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (Kano State): Chairman of the Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution
- Prof. Al-Mustapha Alhaji Aliyu (Sokoto State) is the Director-General of the Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTCA)
- Sanusi Garba Rikiji (Zamfara State): Director-General of the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations
- Mrs Tomi Somefun (Oyo State): Managing Director of the National Hydro-Electric Power Areas Development Commission
- Dr Abdulmumini Mohammed Aminu-Zaria (Kaduna State): Executive Director of the Nigerian Integrated Water Resources Management Commission
