Tinubu mourns ex-Chief of Defence Staff, Ibrahim Ogohi

President Bola Tinubu has consoled the family of the late ex-Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi (retd.), who died at the age of 75.

The former naval officer, who was the Chief of Defence Staff between 1999 and 2003, passed on after a brief illness in the early hours of Sunday at his Abuja residence.

Late Ogohi was also the first chief of defence staff from the Nigerian Navy.

According to a statement on Sunday by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, the President extended his condolences to the family of the late retired Admiral.

The president described the late Admiral Ogohi as a well-decorated officer, stating that his services to the nation will always be remembered.

The statement added, “President Tinubu mourns the late Admiral, stating that his services to the nation will always be remembered.

“The President prays for the repose of the soul of the deceased and comfort to his family.”
