The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured he is determined to turn Nigeria to a progressive, highly developed and prosperous nation.

Leading his team to the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday to join the National Working Committee (NWC) meeting, Tinubu also promised to ensure the country’s full democratisation and transform it into the beckon of democracy of the black race in the world.

“I admit that democracy is challenging, very hard and difficult a system to manage. We have seen challenges left and right outside the international sphere of politics, but we are determined to ensure that we democratise Nigeria fully and remain a beckon of democracy as the largest nation of black race in the world”, he said.

His crowd of supporters and allies had converged at the party’s headquarters to receive the presidential candidate and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima.

That necessitated tight security as newsmen and other visitors had to be cleared at the gate before being allowed into the secretariat building.

Shettima arrived the secretariat by 2:43 pm and waited in front of the main entrance into the secretariat building with the APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, while Tinubu arrived six minutes later.

Adamu then led the duo to attend an ad hoc party’s NWC meeting, which reportedly focused on the forthcoming campaigns.

There was no vehicular movement around the secretariat as all routes were blocked by security operatives.

The secretariat staff were asked to stay away from work to avoid distractions and over-crowding.

Tinubu was visiting the secretariat for the first time since he emerged the presidential candidate in June.
