President Bola Tinubu is set to inaugurate the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council on October 14 ahead of the 2027 general elections, with former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma and Dr Betta Edu expected to play key roles.

The inauguration is scheduled to take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Yari, who serves as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, disclosed this on Friday after meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, where he briefed State House correspondents on preparations for the forthcoming campaign.

He said the President had approved the proposed campaign timetable, adding that activities would begin with a rally in Kaduna State on October 24.

The campaign is expected to move subsequently to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Maiduguri, the Borno State capital. Yari said the detailed schedule of state visits would be released after the council’s inauguration.

Ahead of the formal inauguration, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in collaboration with Edu and other members of the campaign council’s Women Mobilisation Directorate, has intensified grassroots efforts to secure support for the Tinubu–Shettima ticket.

The initiative is targeting 40 million women voters through a nationwide mobilisation strategy covering 176,846 communities and polling-unit structures across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Edu, the Director of Women Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, said the strategy would involve community outreach, engagement with women’s groups and the strengthening of grassroots networks to communicate the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0.

The October 14 inauguration is expected to formalise the campaign council’s operations and bring together party leaders and stakeholders to coordinate activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The planned inauguration will precede the October 24 campaign flag-off in Kaduna, which is expected to mark the beginning of the APC’s nationwide presidential campaign activities.

The ruling party’s preparations form part of its efforts to strengthen its political structures and coordinate voter mobilisation ahead of the general elections.
