President Bola Tinubu is expected to commission some newly completed projects at the University of Ilorin during its 39th convocation ceremonies on 22 October.
Also, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi will deliver the Convocation Lecture on Friday, 18 October, as part of the activities marking the institution’s 39th convocation ceremonies.
In a press statement on Saturday, the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun said that the convocation ceremonies would be formally ushered in with the Vice Chancellor’s Press Briefing on Thursday, 17 October at the university auditorium, beginning from 10 am.
“This will be followed on Friday, 18 October 2024 by the Convocation Lecture, entitled ‘Nurturing Democratic Values and Education for the Future of Nigeria’, to be delivered by Chief Fagbemi at the University Auditorium by 9.45 a.m”. Akogun said.
He added that on the same day, the Convocation Play, Nilee Wa (In Our Land) would be held at the institution’s Performing Arts Theatre.
According to the statement, the main convocation event will be held on Monday, 21 October and Tuesday, 22 October 2024, for graduates of four and five-year programmes, as well as those of the Postgraduate School, respectively.
Also, on Tuesday, 22 October 2024, President Tinubu, who is the university’s Visitor, is expected to commission some newly completed projects in the institution.
