The President met with the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) yesterday while the protest was ongoing.

Nyesom Wike arrived at the Presidential Villa around 4 pm in an SUV and briskly walked into the Presidential Office in what was said to be a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

While the exact purpose of Wike’s visit was not disclosed, it comes amidst ongoing protests in the nation’s capital.

The FCT witnessed protests in some parts including around the Central Area, particularly the vicinities of the Eagle Square where protesters defied warnings from security agencies to vacate the area.

A court order had restricted protests in the FCT to the Moshood Abiola Stadium.

The protesters left the stadium a procession to the Eagle Square which the FCT had said was not approved.

Their movement caused disruptions to traffic and businesses in the Central Area.

It was learnt that the situation with the protest in the FCT might have warranted the minister’s meeting with the President.
