The Director-General, The Patriots Roundtable, Prince Uthman Shodipe-Dosunmu was on Tuesday elevated from Akinrogun to Apesin Ola at the conclave of Eyo Oba Alakete Pupa Laba Ekun at Iduntafa in Lagos.
A seasoned editor, political strategist and mobiliser, Shodipe-Dosunmu is a close ally of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He is the Director-General of The Patriots Roundtable, a group campaigning for Tinubu’s election as Nigeria’s president.
The letter confirming the elevation was dated 21st December 2022 and signed by the General Secretary of Eyo Oba Olori Eyo Alakete Pupa, Adeyemi K. Disu. The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, is the Grand Patron of the royal community.
On his social media handles, an elated Apesin Ola wrote: “Yesterday, 3rd January at the conclave of Ẹyọ Oba Alakẹtẹ Pupa Ọkọlaba Ẹkun at Iduntafa in the very heart of ancestral Lagos, I was elevated from the position of Akinrogun to the higher pedestal of APESIN ỌLA. I glorify the Majesty of the workings of Heaven.”
