Tribunal declares Natasha Akpoti winner of Kogi Central senatorial election

The election petition tribunal sitting in Lokoja has declared, Barrister Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the 25th February Kogi Central senatorial election.

In his ruling on Wednesday, the tribunal Chairman, Justice Kemakolam Orjiakoin said that Akpoti-Uduaghan scored 54,064 votes to defeat his closest rival Abubakar Sadiku Ohere of the All Progressives Congress, who polled 51,291 votes.

Justice Orjiakoin ordered Senator Ohere to pay Akpoti-Uduaghan N500,000 for the cost of the petition.
