A security and political strategist, Dr. Jerry Nwohu has called on Nigerians, irrespective of political and ethnic backgrounds, to rally round President Bola Tinubu in his determination to find lasting solution to the nation’s multidimensional economic and security challenges.

Congratulating the President for the victory at the Presidential Election Petition Court on Wednesday, Nwohu, who is his close associate, described the ruling as a “no victor no vanquished” situation, adding that all parties involved, including the citizenry, should accept the verdict in good fate in order for the administration to forge ahead with real governance that would be beneficial to all.

A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council 2023 for the Imo State governorship election, Nwohu further said: “The judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, which was given yesterday, was epic. The judges were painstaking in giving graphic details of the proceedings, as they involved all the parties and their counsels. The rulings were educating, informative, and provided the way forward to all concerned, depending on how each party decided to respond to the landmark judgments which took about 12 hours to deliver.

He added: “The ruling should be accepted as a ‘no victor, no vanguished’ intervention in the litigation which involved the major political parties. In the light of this, I will like to exercise some restraints in congratulating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. My appeal, therefore, goes to the supporters of APC, Labour Party, and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to overlook the gulf which political campaign activities, prior to this moment, had created between them and put the interest of humanity and our communities above all considerations. Nigeria shall be great.

“Above all, nobody stands to gain anything if our country fails to work. So, Nigeria comes before any other interests or considerations. I appeal to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr. Peter Obi to kindly heed the call to join hands to build a better Nigeria. There are countless good which Nigeria has in stock for her citizens if and when all hands are on deck. In brotherhood, we should stand for a greater working Nigeria”.

The five-member panel, led by Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani, also had Justice Monsurat Bolaji-Yusuf, Justice Moses Ugo and Justice Abba Mohammed. The panel dismissed the three petitions brought against President Tinubu’s election.

The petitions were brought by Atiku and PDP, Obi and LP, and the Allied Peoples Movement.

In the lead judgement, Justice Tsammani affirmed the declaration and return of Tinubu as the winner of the election having scored the highest lawful votes.

He held that none of the three sets of petitioners was able to prove their allegations as contained in the petitions.
