Udom Emmanuel presidential campaign organisation appoints Fayemiwo Deputy DG

The Udom Gabriel Emanuel Presidential Campaign Organisation (TUGEPCO 2023) has appointed renowned columnist and author, Dr Moshood Ademola Fayemiwo as Deputy Director General.

Last week, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel announced his intention to contest the 2023 presidential election under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The first leg of Fayemiwo’s assignment is to provide leadership for Governor Emmanuel’s victory in the PDP presidential primary scheduled for 28th and 29th May,

Based in Texas, United States, Fayemiwo is deeply connected with his country, Nigeria.

Born in Owo, Ondo State, Fayemiwo attended Government Primary School, Owo, Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Owo and Baptist Academy Obanikoro, Lagos. He then proceeded to the prestigious University of Lagos where he graduated with Bachelor of Education/Social Science in 1988.

He travelled to the United States in 1999 and earned his first Master’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of South Florida, Tampa; second Master’s degree in Information Science; third Master’s degree in African History; and Combined Master’s degree in World History and Literary Studies at the State University of New York. His PhD is in Public Administration and Policy.

Fayemiwo was the Publisher/Editor of the fearless and famous samizdat Razor magazine in the 1990s which championed the pro-democracy struggle and the re-validation of the epochal 12th June 1993 presidential election victory of late Chief Moshood Abiola, which was denied the multibillionaire politician.

Fayemiwo was arrested several times by the goons of the bestial Sani Abacha military regime forcing him to go on exile in neighbouring Republic of Benin in 1996. He relocated to the United States with his entire family at the birth of Nigeria’s current Republic.

He has been in journalism for more than 30 years and currently maintains a weekly column with the Nigeria World (www.nigeriaworld.com). His column articles are syndicated in other media platforms in Lagos, Nigeria, Accra, Ghana, New York, The Netherlands, among other locations. His scholarly articles have also been published in some academic journals.

He is a member of several professional organisations, including the American Association of University Professors (AAUP), American Society of Newspaper Editors (ASNE), National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), American Library Association (ALA), Amnesty International (AI) and Listed in Worldwide Who’s Who Directory.

Fayemiwo was CEO, Alternative Lifestyle Communication, DBA Chicago, USA. He is President, Neal & Associates Consulting Group and Spiritual Head/Founder, The Jesus Christ Solution Center, Texas. He is an ordained minister of God in Texas, a peripatetic missionary and a Bible teacher.

Fayee, as he was fondly called by his cognomen during his undergraduate years, was President of the Students Union at the University of Lagos in the mid-80s. He has relocated from his base in Texas to Nigeria to head TUGEPCO as its Deputy Director-General for the 2023 PDP presidential primary and general elections.

Fayemiwo has consulted for several political parties and community organisations around the world. He helped the opposition National People’s Party (NPP) in The Gambia during the 2017 presidential election, which led to the defeat of the ruling Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) of the then President Yahya Jammeh, who had been in power for 25 years and the election of Mr Adama Barrow.

He consulted for the Biden-Harris Presidential Campaign in the 2020 U.S. presidential election, which led to the defeat of President Donald Trump for a second term and the election of President Joe Biden in the 4th November 2020 presidential election.

He was also instrumental in the election of Mr Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2016 presidential election after he had tried thrice to govern Ghana. Akufo-Addo eventually defeated then incumbent President John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). President Akufo-Addo also won his re-election by outright majority in 2020.

In his home country, Nigeria, Fayemiwo was those who prophesied the defeat of President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 presidential election by the then opposition leader, Muhammadu Buhari of the All-Progressive Congress (APC), who eventually won the election after he had contested thrice for the plum job.

His political consultations stretched to the Republic of Burundi, Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, and other countries where opposition parties had taken power through peaceful democratic elections. He will be coming to TUGEPCO with sthenic array of security and intelligence gathering for grassroots political mobilisation to deliver the success of Governor Emmanuel at the PDP presidential primary, and his eventual victory in the 25th February 2023 presidential election.

A card-carrying and registered member of the PDP, his percipient understanding of Nigeria’s geo-political history, and the inter-play of ethno-religious forces in a heterogenous and diverse nation such as Nigeria are inspirations to TUGEPCO.

Widely travelled, Fayemiwo lives in Cameron near Austin, Texas with his American wife, Dr Margie Marie Neal, and they have a son.
