Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. David Umahi, on Saturday, sacked 17 Permanent Secretaries.
The development came two days to the inauguration of the next administration, to be led by Francis Nwifuru.
Both Umahi and Nwifuru are members of the All Progressives Congress.
Umahi announced the sack during a valedictory session of the State Executive Council at the new Government House, Centenary City, Abakaliki, the state capital.
He, however, retained 15 Permanent Secretaries to work with the incoming administration.
The out going Governor also retained the Head of Service, Mrs. Rita-Mary Okoro; Senior Special Assistant on Religious and Welfare Matters, Rev. Fr. Abraham Nwali; Commissioner for Works and Transport, Mr. Ogbonna Abara; and the Commissioner for Aviation and Technology, Mrs. Obianuju Alo.
Umahi also appointed Special Assistant on Airport Project, Frank Ngwu as Commissioner for Trade and Investment; Mrs. Chioma Nweze as consultants for the state government for a period of three months.
