Voting has been disrupted in Ejigbo, Osun State, following an outbreak of violence at a polling area during the ongoing governorship election.
The incident reportedly started after a young man discovered materials allegedly linked to vote-buying and said to belong to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The youth and others reportedly seized the materials, insisting they could not stand by and watch what they described as an illegal activity without intervening.
Tension escalated when individuals allegedly connected to the materials arrived at the scene and reportedly attempted to take the youth away.
The development triggered a confrontation, forcing voters, residents and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to flee the polling area for safety.
Video footage circulating online showed people running in different directions as motorcycles and vehicles moved through the area amid the chaos.
Voting was reportedly disrupted as the situation deteriorated, although it remains unclear whether anyone sustained injuries.
Security personnel were expected to intervene and restore order to enable the electoral process to continue.
