Arsenal executive vice-chair Tim Lewis has revealed the advice the club’s former manager Arsene Wenger gave to forward Bukayo Saka when he returned to the Emirates last year.
Wenger spent 22 years in charge of Arsenal between 1996 and 2018.
The Frenchman returned to the north London club for the first time in over four years last December to watch a 3-1 victory over West Ham United and met with Saka, Mikel Arteta, and the Arsenal squad.
Lewis has now revealed what Wenger told Saka in the club’s changing room during their first-ever discussion.
“It was great to take Arsene (Wenger) down to the dressing room,” Lewis told newmen
“Bukayo did not know him, but he called him ‘boss’ immediately.
“He said, ‘Boss, how can I improve?’ – Arsene very dryly said, ‘I think you could use your right foot a bit more’”.
