The Myty of the piously dead marriage: Why religion is killing your boredom

Let us look at the mirror and stop lying to ourselves. So many marriages are failing today because of the ignorance and foolishness of many who are happily wedded but sorrowfully married; all in the name of misprioritization. We carry titles, we wear rings, we sit in the front pews of our churches, and yet behind closed doors, our homes are cold, dead war zones. We have traded the raw, beating heart of genuine marital companionship for a sanitized, lifeless religious performance.

THE DESTRUCTIVE LIE ABOUT INTIMACY

I watched a video recently where a lady said that if a man loves you he will have sex as often as he would. That is 100% true. But the truth is, it is applicable to both genders. Love is not a theoretical concept floating in the ether; love has a pulse, and that pulse beats in the bedroom.

Yet, look at what we have done. So many people have negative interpretations about sex because of the lies they have been programmed to believe from childhood, from pulpits, and from cultural shaming. They treat intimacy like a necessary evil or a mechanical chore meant strictly for reproduction, stripping it of the divine joy it was designed to carry. Sex can transform your life for good if you and your partner are happy and fulfilled having it together regularly. When a man and a woman are deeply connected physically, the friction of daily life loses its grip on them.

“Marriage dies the day intimacy becomes a negotiation rather than a celebration.”

STOP HIDING BEHIND FAKE HOLINESS
Stop letting outdated religious tradition ruin your marriage under the guise of fake holiness. We see it every day: people wrapping themselves in a cloak of false piety, acting as though physical pleasure with a lawful spouse is somehow a pollutant to the soul.
Prayer and fasting do not stop or affect having sex. You can be on a forty-day fast and still lay with your spouse passionately. The idea that abstaining from intimacy makes you more spiritual during a fast is a lie born out of legalism, not scripture. God created marital intimacy, and fasts do not cancel the sanctity of the marriage bed.

Religion has trained us to feel guilty for being human. We think looking miserable makes us holy. We think denying our spouses makes God smile. It is absolute nonsense. God is not the author of marital starvation.

SEX IS A SPIRITUAL KEY, NOT A SIN

Unknown to many bound by religious guilt, having sex with your spouse whether you are praying and fasting or not usually unlocks deep things, favours, and blessings in the spirit realm. Intimacy between a husband and wife is a covenant act that releases spiritual power.

Look at what the word of God actually says. As Apostle Paul plainly commanded in 1 Corinthians 7:5, “Do not deprive one another except perhaps by consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you.”

Notice Paul said by consent, not by force or religious obligation. He did not say, “Run away from your spouse for months in the name of holiness.” He said take a brief, mutually agreed pause, and then get right back together. In fact, pastors who have experienced this can attest to the fact that having sex before going to preach actually makes the Spirit flow effectively. It grounds you, clears emotional baggage, and aligns your atmosphere.

Lust seeks to consume, but covenant sex seeks to release. When you lock into your spouse in true oneness, burdens lift, clarity comes, and the spiritual atmosphere shifts in your home.

TEAR DOWN THE RELIGIOUS ALTAR IN YOUR BEDROOM

Religion makes you cold, but divine order keeps you hot for your spouse. Break free from religious hypocrisy today and enjoy the fullness of your marriage covenant.

Stop starving your partner to prove a religious point. Stop using fasting as an excuse to build walls in your bedroom. If your prayer life requires the destruction of your marriage bed, then your prayer life is demonic. God instituted marriage before the church building existed. He looked at man and woman and said they shall become one flesh, not one stranger living in the same house.

Wake up. The world is too brutal out there for you to bring battle lines back into your own bedroom. Tear down the religious lies, drop the fake holiness, and embrace the gift that God gave you to protect, sustain, and elevate your union.

“A holy marriage is not one devoid of passion; it is one where passion is fueled by covenant.”
