Factional chairman of the Labour Party, Barrister Julius Abure, at the weekend, held a meeting with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike
The meeting was held at Wike’s residence in Abuja,
Although its purpose or agenda remains unclear, it comes, however, just days after the Abure-led faction urged the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi to leave the party over the later’s decision to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.
Wike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who serves as a minister in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government, has been accused by his party members of being the ‘mastermind’ behind the crisis plaguing the opposition party.
Less than a week ago, Abure, had asked the Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti to stop misleading the public by claiming he has not aligned with the other faction’s Caretaker Committee within the coalition party.
