President Bola Tinubu has assigned ministerial portfolios to the nominees recently cleared by the Senate. Former Rivers State Governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike is the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, while Mr. Wale Edun is the Minister of Finance and Minister Coordinating for the Economy.
The former presidential spokesman, Mr. Dele Alake takes charge of the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, while Mr. Bosun Tijani is the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.
Former Ebonyi State Governor is the Minister of Works, Barrister Festus Keyamo (Aviation and Aerospace Development), (Dr. Mrs.) Betta Edu (Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation), former Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola (Transportation), former Jigawa State Governor Mohamed Badaru (Defence), and Prof. Ali Pate (Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare).
Others include Mr. Lateef Fagbemi (Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation), Muhammad Idris (Information and National Orientation), Abubakar Momoh (Youth), Doris Uzoka (Industry, Trade and Investment), Uju Ohaneye (Women Affairs), former Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong (Labour and Employment).
The Senate suspended the screening of three of the 48 ministerial nominees of President Tinubu. They are: former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Senator Sani Abubakar and Mrs. Stella Okotete.
