Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Minister, Nyesom Wike, has declared ‘total support’ for President Bola Tinubu, even as tensions brew within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
On Tuesday, Wike, who has been on a tour of local government areas (LGAs), in Rivers State, said his next stops would be Akuku-Toru and Degema, describing both communities as firmly behind the President.
‘Yesterday, we were in Oyigbo and Ogu-Bolo LGAs. Today, we will be in Akuku-Toru and Degema LGAs’, Wike wrote on X.
‘Here, it is local politics, and our support for Mr President is total’.
The minister’s remarks come amid a growing rift with APC national secretary Ajibola Basiru, who on Monday demanded that Wike resign his ministerial position, accusing him of an ‘obsession’ with Rivers politics.
Wike had earlier warned Basiru to stop interfering in Rivers State’s affairs, cautioning that his ‘hands will burn’, if he persisted.
