In the spirit of the Yuletide season, Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has extended his humanitarian gesture to a journalist. He gifted a two-bedroom flat located in Lugbe, Abuja, to the female sports reporter, Joan Nnenna Iwuchukwu.
The beneficiary, an Abuja-based journalist who confirmed Musa’s kind gesture, said she is still in shock even as she prayed to God to bless the former Leicester City of England striker more, saying loyalty pays.
“I was shocked. I couldn’t believe it, not until I got called the second time. I am very grateful. God bless him for me. Loyalty really pays”, Iwuchukwu.
Iwuchukwu, a member of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), aside from doing her job as a sports reporter, has been an ardent fan of Ahmed Musa right from his days at the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Kano Pillars FC in Kano and has taken many insults in her defence of the player with her pen.
This latest humanitarian gesture has further cemented Ahmed Musa in history as a renowned philanthropist as it comes barely four months after the Eagles Captain redeemed his promise of securing a house for a famous veteran actor, Abdullahi Shu’aibu, aka Karkuzu.
The footballer also gave the veteran actor an additional N500,000 a few days after the actor who had gone blind took to social media to solicit financial assistance.
