Zambian professional football league side, Zanaco have announced the sacking of ex-Nigerian international Emmanuel Amunike eight months after he was hired.
Last September, Amunike was appointed as a coach on consultancy level with the mandate of him changing the fortune of the club.
However, the former Barcelona star was unable to change the situation, which forced those in charge to ask him to leave.
While carrying out his duties at Zanaco, the club are winless in their last eight league games and are just three points off the relegation zone.
According to the report on Brila FM, Wedson Nyireda has been hired as coach until the end of the season with the target to save the side from relegation.
Despite their poor form of run this season, Zanaco are occupying 13th position on the Zambian league table with 34 points.
Over the weekend, the club suffered a defeat against Napsa Stars.
Amunike has not been having it rosy in his coaching career, unlike the way he succeeded as a player.
