79 bag 1st-class as Ekiti varsity set to graduate 5,963 students

Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti will officially churn out 5, 963 fresh graduates during its 27th convocation ceremonies slated to hold on Wednesday and Thursday, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Edward Olanipekun has said.

Olanipekun said the institution would be awarding 74 diploma certificates; 5,602 first degree; 80 with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), and 207 postgraduates certificates.

At a press conference heralding the convocation ceremonies, the Vice Chancellor added that “79 of the first-degree graduands bagged first class degrees; 1,847 had second class upper, 3,343 had second class lower; 332 had third class while one had passed”.

Olanipekun also said the convocation lecture, titled, “The University System in Nigeria and the Sustainability Question”, would be delivered by a former Vice Chancellor of Osun State University, Osogbo.
