Liverpool secured a 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in game week 25 of the English Premier League fixture, with goals from Luis Díaz and Mohamed Salah sealing the win at Anfield on Sunday.

The Reds took the lead early in the game, with Díaz opening the scoring in the 15th minute. The Colombian forward capitalised on an opportunity to put Liverpool ahead, setting the tone for the first half.

Wolves struggled to respond, and their frustration was evident as Matt Doherty received a yellow card in the 26th minute.

The visitors’ coach, Vítor Pereira, was also booked just three minutes later, adding to their woes.

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté was shown a yellow card in the 31st minute, but it did little to slow down the home side’s momentum.

Liverpool doubled their advantage in the 37th minute when Mohamed Salah calmly converted a penalty, making it 2-0. Wolves’ Emmanuel Agbadou was booked just two minutes later as tensions continued to rise.

Despite being two goals down at halftime, Wolves found a way back into the game in the second half.

Matheus Cunha reduced the deficit in the 67th minute, scoring from a Jean-Ricner Bellegarde assist to give the visitors hope.

However, Liverpool remained composed, with Virgil van Dijk receiving a booking in the 71st minute as they saw out the game.

The final whistle confirmed a 2-1 victory for Liverpool.
