Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has said that President Bola Tinubu has shown love to Kano and will be repaid with massive support in 2027.

Jibrin spoke in Abuja on Thursday after a closed-door meeting of All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders from Kano.

The meeting was attended by a former APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje;  Minister of State for Housing, Alhaji Abdullahi Atta; Senator Kawu Sumaila; Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Hon. Abubakar Bichi; a former governor of the state, Senator Kabiru Gaya; and and several serving and former lawmakers.

Jibtin said: ‘We are solidly behind him because he loves us.

‘He has given us institutions of higher learning, development projects and other initiatives.

‘We have urged our people to continue supporting the president and the APC and to pray for our nation’.

He said the gathering reviewed the state of the APC in Kano and across the country and concluded that the ruling party is ‘growing from strength to strength’.

‘It was unanimously agreed by all that President Bola Tinubu has done very well for our state and indeed the entire nation’, Jibrin said.

‘We have counted several projects that are being implemented in our state and throughout the northern part of the country.

‘So many people from our state and indeed the north have also been appointed to occupy various federal positions’.

The Deputy Senate President added that the party’s growth in Kano is connected to interventions made by the president to ease the suffering of the people.

Ganduje said the APC in the state remains strong despite losing the 2023 governorship election.

‘We are here to assure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that our party in Kano state is solidly behind him’, he said.

‘We appreciate his policy reforms and the good work he is doing for Kano.

‘Because of his policies and our political dexterity, we have attracted important politicians from other parties into the APC’.

He listed defectors, including Kawu Sumaila, Kabiru Ruru, Abdullahi Sani Rogo, former commissioners, and former government officials who left the New Nigeria Peoples Party to join the APC.

On the 2027 elections, Ganduje said the party would mobilise voters during the ongoing registration exercise to ensure the APC’s victory in Kano.

On his part, Bichi said President Tinubu has done ‘extremely well’ in Kano, especially on infrastructure projects.

‘For someone to say Mr President is not interested in Kano or the north is all politics’, he said.

‘In 2027, Kano will come all out and vote for the president and APC governor, Insha Allah’.
