Some shortlisted candidates for the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board’s (CDCFIB) online computer-based test have expressed frustration over their inability to complete their exams before being logged out.

The CDCFIB computer-based test (CBT) for shortlisted candidates is part of the requirements for the ongoing recruitment exercise across the country.

The computer-based test for the 2025 paramilitary positions began on 12 November and is scheduled to end on 18 November.

The exam is meant for recruitment into agencies such as the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Correctional Service.

Weekend Trust gathered that some shortlisted candidates were shocked by the abrupt end of their exams shortly after logging in.

Some of them who voiced their concerns on ‘X’, lamented portal access problems, including automatic logouts and blank screens.

Eze Francis (@official_dubem2) expressed disappointment over his inability to take the exam.

‘#CDCFIBRecruitment2025: I had a glitch on the exam today. Case of empty space with just me looking at myself on the camera, no questions. I tried to refresh and it says exam already completed’. It pained me a lot because I’ve been preparing for this exam’, he wrote.

Peter (@firstrealpeter) echoed a similar experience. ‘#CDCFIBRecruitment2025 #cdcfib @CDCFIBNG please, I logged in 30 mins to exam as instructed and I’m here on blank page. Help o’, he wrote.

Henry King also pleaded for assistance, describing his inability to write the exam as an injustice.

‘@BTOofficial @CDCFIBNG #CDCFIBRecruitment2025 @nigimmigration @NigeriaGov @officialABAT: Come to our assistant sir. This is injustice to us that were unable to write the examination. We deserve free and fair CBT examination’, he wrote.

Major Olayimika Gold attributed the glitches to an inaccurate date/time setting on the laptops used. ‘I guess everyone getting this response hasn’t done the exam, and this is due to an inaccurate date/time on the laptop being used. Anyone else can as well confirm this. And if this is the case, what can be done?’ he wrote.
