A former Deputy Country Director of Democracy for Africa Programme, social development consultant, author, and the National Publicity Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Araba Rufus Aiyenigba has been appointed to Chair the Central Planning Committee of the 40th Graduation Anniversary of the 1986 Class of the Baptist High School, Ekinrin-Adde, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The anniversary will hold in June 2026.
The appointment was conveyed through a letter dated 25 November 2025, by the President and Secretary-General of the Baptist High School, Ekinrin-Adde 1985 Set Alumni Association, Malam Abdulkareem Aminu and Dame Rebecca Rotimi.
The 13-member committee, which is saddled with the responsibility of organising the 40th graduation anniversary and capital project commissioning of the association, has the former Chairman of Lagos State Health Providers’ Association, Dr. Edward Ademola Aina, as Deputy Chairman; and a Canada-based legal practitioner, Mrs. Bolaji Ireyomi as Secretary.
Other members of the committee include a Professor of Health Physics/Biophysics at the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo City, Prof. Christopher Jimoh Olowookere; and a Special Adviser on Health to the Kogi State Governor, Hon. Aiyepeku Aiyedogbon, among other distinguished aalumni of the class.
According to the appointment letter, Aiyenigba, who currently serves as the Secretary of the Elders Council on the National Executive Council of the Okun Development Association, the apex socio-cultural organisation of the Yoruba people of Kogi State, was appointed to play this important role in recognition of his vision and contributions to the group, as Convener and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
The letter stated that the Executive Committee of the association is confident that Aiyenigba’s leadership and vision will steer the success of the two significant milestones, and in leading the committee to organise and execute impactful celebrations for the 40th anniversary.
Aiyenigba served as chairman of the launching committee that inaugurated the Baptist High School Ekinrin-Adde Old Students Association 28 eight years ago.
