The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), has returned a former governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, to its custody.
It was reported that El-Rufai was released from custody on 27 March, 2026, following the death of his mother,
He was re-arraigned earlier on 24 March 2026, with the court adjourning his bail application till 31 March, 2026.
The former governor had appeared at the Kaduna State High Court for a separate charge filed against him by the ICPC.
The absence of the second defendant stalled the hearing, which was then adjourned to 10 April 2026.
It was after the Kaduna State High Court appearance that the former governor was taken to the Federal High Court, Kaduna, where his bail application is expected to be heard.
