Memorial lecture holds for Tunde Oladunjoye in Abeokuta

A memorial lecture in honour of a former Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Comrade Tunde Oldunjoye will hold today (Tuesday) at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Oldunjoye, popularly called CATO, died on 4 April 2025 in a London hospital following an ailment. The 58-year-old was buried in Ijebu-Itele, his hometown.

He was a vibrant journalist, politician and human right activist.

In a statement on Monday, a Committee of Friends, headed by the Publisher of Penpushing Media, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji; with Olori Toyin Banjo as Secretary, said that a memorial lecture titled, “The Pen, The Truth and The Burden of Responsibility: The Legacy of Ethical Journalism”, would be deliver by a former Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly. Hon. Remmy Lawal between 1 and 4 pm.

It said that the lecture would focus on the life and time of the deceased.

The committee said that the guests are expected to include individuals, organisations and other stakeholders.

Other members of the committee include Barrister Solomon Bankole, Comrade Sunday Nwaobi, Otunba Taofeek Lawal and Comrade Olumide Igbodipe.
