Lagos NIPR, LCCI strike strategic partnership on capacity building, business communication

The Lagos State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) aimed at strengthening professional development, ethical communication and capacity building within Nigeria’s organised private sector.

The framework for the partnership was established during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the chapter, led by its Chairman, Dr. Samuel Ayetutu, to the President/Chairman of Council of LCCI, Engr. Leye Kupoluyi.

In a statement on Thursday, the Public Relations Officer of Lagos NIPR chapter, Dr. Oguchukwu Okeke, said that the collaboration will focus on organising specialised training programmes, workshops and professional engagements designed to enhance the communication competencies of entrepreneurs, corporate executives, business leaders and communication professionals across various sectors of the economy.

Welcoming the initiative, Kupoluyi reaffirmed the commitment of the LCCI to strategic partnerships capable of improving the competitiveness and sustainability of businesses operating in Nigeria.

He noted that effective public relations and strategic communication remain critical to promoting trade, investment opportunities, stakeholder trust and corporate reputation in today’s dynamic business environment.

Ayetutu described communication as a strategic asset for organisational growth and sustainability.

‘Effective communication is no longer a peripheral function, but a critical driver of business growth, reputation management and stakeholder engagement in today’s dynamic economic landscape.

‘By synergising the expertise of public relations professionals with the robust network of the organised private sector, we are actively equipping businesses with the strategic communication tools necessary to navigate complex markets, build enduring trust and attract sustainable investments’, he stated.

The meeting also featured discussions on future collaborative initiatives aimed at promoting ethical communication standards, strengthening institutional relationships and deepening knowledge-sharing between communication professionals and the business community.

The Lagos NIPR Lagos delegation also had the General Secretary, Mr. Samuel O. Adeyemi; Treasurer, Mr. Bamiji Adeleye; and Assistant General Secretary/IT Officer,
•Mrs. Rita Ali-Nock.

Also present at the meeting were representatives of the LCCI, including: Mr. Sunday Osanyintuyi, Mrs. Abosede Okeyemi and Yeye Agnes Shobanjo.

The visit marks another significant step by the NIPR Lagos chapter towards fostering strategic partnerships that advance professional excellence, economic development and impactful communication practice in Nigeria.
