Topflight teams have been paired with their less fancied opposition in the men’s and women’s editions of this year’s President Federation Cup as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) released the Round of 64 fixtures on Friday.

With the country’s oldest and most prestigious football competition being played on knockout basis and the final to be hosted by Asaba, the Delta State capital, title holders Kwara United were seeded as No. 1 and will take on Sporting Supreme U19 of the Federal Capital Territory, while last year’s runners-up Abakaliki FC of Ebonyi State, who are placed No. 64 in the draw, will be challenged by Kaduna State’s ABU Distance Learning Centre FC.

The fixtures for the men’s and women’s competition of this year’s President Federation Cup national competition have been released following the draw ceremony held today at the NFF Secretariat, Abuja.

NFF’s General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, explained that this year’s draw process was consistent with previous editions, while noting that the competition structure would be more straightforward as no team received a bye into the next round.

He assured participating teams, officials, and football stakeholders that the competition would be maintained on a level-playing ground for all the teams, emphasising that all regulations guiding the smooth and transparent organisation of the tournament would be strictly upheld
