Public relations expert, Emeka Ozumba, has been cleared to contest the primary election for Njikọka Constituency 1 state constituency of Anambra State by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
A former Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Ozumba, declared his political interest for the seat on 7 May 2026 and was screened last Wednesday at the APGA regional office in Awka, the state capital. ‘To the glory of God, I was cleared and found fit to contest the primaries’, he announced on his Facebook page on Saturday morning.
His statement further read: ‘Yesterday (Friday, 15 May 2026), I was cleared by our great party APGA to contest in the primaries scheduled for Saturday, 23 May 2026. The winner will fly the APGA flag for Njikọka 1 in the general elections next year.
‘Since announcing my Expression of Interest on 5 May 2026 and formally declaring on Thursday, 7 May 2026 at Obu Ozom Hall, Urunnebo, Enugwu-Ukwu, I have spent the last seven days outlining my seven-point agenda for Njikọka 1.
‘Umunne m Ndi Umunri, in the coming week, I will continue engaging with you directly. This is so you can drill down on why Njikọka 1 needs a new lease of legislative life — Effective and Productive Representation, maka ọdịmma anyị. It is your right to hear exactly what I will do better as your legislator.
‘Maka Ọdịmma Njikọka 1 (For the Progress of Njikọka 1)
‘I pledge to communicate clearly and directly with our people. Ndi Njikọka 1 have heard promises before. What’s different with me is that every commitment is tied to clear, verifiable deliverables — something you can check yourself: a photo, a document, a meeting, a signature.
‘I will not make vague promises. I will take specific, verifiable actions. You will know what to expect, when to expect it, and how to check if it was done.
‘As your legislator, I will use a Problem-to-Bill Pipeline — a deliberate process that turns the everyday struggles of Njikọka 1 people into binding laws and funded government action.
‘Every committee seat I hold will be treated as a resource for the constituency. I will use it for one purpose only:
‘Maka Ọdịmma Njikọka 1.
‘Daalụ nu‘!
