Popular Nigerian TikTok couple Habeeb Hamzat, better known as Peller, and Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis or Jadrolita, have responded to critics who questioned their decision to get married at a young age.
The couple, who recently tied the knot in a ceremony that attracted widespread attention online, appeared to dismiss the criticism in a trending video shared on Monday.
In the video, Peller and Jarvis were seen dancing together and singing while seemingly addressing those who had condemned their union.
“Na we dey love, na them dey cry. Go and make it. No dey jealous. Na we dey buy car. You will run mad. Stop thinking,” they sang.
The video has since generated fresh reactions across social media, with many users interpreting their comments as a direct response to critics of their marriage.
The couple’s wedding, held on Saturday, became one of the most talked-about events on Nigerian social media, attracting congratulatory messages from fans, friends and fellow content creators.
However, some Nigerians questioned their decision to marry at a relatively young age, with critics raising concerns about their emotional and financial preparedness for marriage.
One social media user, Lombardio, wrote: “This boy did the worst mistake of his life, but he has no idea. Here in America, before you agree to a court wedding with a woman, you need to sign a valid prenuptial agreement.”
Another user, Osinachi Wisdom, offered a different view, saying: “This marriage will favour them; many people expect them to break up later, but believe me, their union will be one of the best. Kudos, JP.”
A user identified as Jay also defended the couple, writing: “They both saw and knew their shortcomings; still, they got married. That’s real love. Marriage isn’t about love alone but the ability to manage the shortcomings. I wish you two everlasting happiness and peace in your union.”
While some social media users described the marriage as premature, others argued that age should not determine whether a couple is ready for marriage, stressing the importance of mutual understanding and commitment.
