Chelsea defeated AC Milan 3-0 in Jakarta on Saturday to win the 2026 Indonesia Super Cup, with Joao Pedro scoring twice and Moises Caicedo adding a spectacular third goal.
The victory came in Chelsea’s fourth match of their pre-season tour, with head coach Xabi Alonso’s side dominating large periods of the encounter at the GBK Stadium in front of 40,856 spectators, according to a post-match report on the club’s website.
Chelsea took the lead in first-half stoppage time when Joao Pedro met Caicedo’s corner and glanced a header beyond Milan goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani.
The Brazilian doubled Chelsea’s advantage shortly after the restart following a fine assist from Pedro Neto. Neto shifted the ball onto his left foot before delivering a cross towards the back post, where Joao Pedro escaped his marker and guided the ball into the net.
Caicedo made it 3-0 in the 50th minute with an impressive outside-of-the-boot volley.
The goal came from another corner, with Romeo Lavia playing the ball towards the edge of the penalty area for the Ecuadorian midfielder to fire into the corner.
Milan made several changes at half-time, while Alonso retained his starting XI as Chelsea continued to create chances after extending their lead.
Cole Palmer forced another save from Torriani with a shot from 18 yards, while second-half substitute Nicolas Jackson also went close after a powerful run into the Milan penalty area before striking the post.
Chelsea started the game with Robert Sanchez in goal, while Josh Acheampong, Wesley Fofana, Jorrel Hato and Marco Palestra formed the defensive line.
The victory handed Chelsea their first piece of silverware on their Indonesian pre-season tour and provided another boost as they continue preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.
Chelsea will return to action on Sunday when they travel to Malaysia to face Johor Darul Ta’zim.
The match is scheduled for 8pm local time, which is 1pm UK time.
