Shooting Stars chairman, Taiwo Salami, has expressed satisfaction with the club’s recruitment drive ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Salami said the Oluyole Warriors had significantly strengthened their squad during the transfer window but were still looking to bring in two or three more players before the new campaign begins.
Speaking during a radio programme in Ibadan, the club chairman said he was confident that the team now had a much stronger squad than it did last season.
“I can boldly say I am satisfied with the level of recruitment done by the club for the new season,” Salami said.
“I might not say 100 per cent, but 90 per cent, as we are hopeful of adding two or three more players to the squad.
“I can say we have a far better squad than last season, as we are very intentional with our signings in this transfer window.”
Shooting Stars will begin their 2026/27 campaign at home in Ibadan against newly promoted Inter Lagos.
The Oluyole Warriors will also have continental football to contend with next season, having secured a place in the CAF Confederation Cup.
With the club aiming to improve on its performance in the previous campaign, Salami’s comments suggest that Shooting Stars could still make further additions before the transfer window closes.
