Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has criticised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the delay in uploading results from the ongoing Osun State governorship election to the IReV portal.
Davido raised the concern in a post on X on Saturday, questioning why no election result had been uploaded to the portal as of 2:33pm.
“INEC (@inecnigeria), it is now 2:33 p.m., yet no result has been uploaded to the IReV portal. What is the delay?
“Nigerians deserve transparency and timely updates,” he wrote.
The singer’s comment came as voters across Osun State participated in the election to determine who will occupy the Bola Ige Government House for the next four years.
Fifteen political parties are on the ballot, with incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party.
Two candidates, Adesina Adeyemi-Doro of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Simon Adewale of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), had earlier announced their withdrawal from the race.
While Adeyemi-Doro endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, Adewale declared his support for Adeleke.
Despite their withdrawals, both APGA and APM remain on the ballot for the election.
