Rev. Mother Abimbola Esther Ajayi has been installed as the Grand Matron of the Girls’ Brigade during a colourful ceremony held at the Love of Christ Generation Church, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event, which took place on 23 August 2026, brought together members of the organisation, church leaders and other distinguished guests for a ceremony marked by celebration, discipline and recognition of service.
A major highlight was the formal presentation of the Grand Matron title to Ajayi in recognition of her commitment to the Christian faith and her support for the development of the Girls’ Brigade.
The General Secretary of the Unification Church, Senior Prophet Tayo Ajose, attended the ceremony and was also honoured as the Grand Patron of the Girls’ Brigade in recognition of his support for the organisation and its mission.
Speaking at the event, Ajose commended the Girls’ Brigade for recognising Ajayi’s contributions and dedication to Christian service.
“The Cherubim and Seraphim Church is proud of the Girls’ Brigade for recognising Rev. Mother Abimbola Esther Ajayi’s continuous dedication to the things of God,” he said.
He described the recognition as an important and significant gesture.
Ajayi Pledges Support for Girls’ Brigade
In her acceptance remarks, Ajayi expressed appreciation for the honour and pledged to support the organisation’s mission of developing young women through faith, discipline and service.
“I am deeply honoured to be entrusted with this role as Grand Matron of the Girls’ Brigade,” she said.
Ajayi said the recognition represented not only a personal honour but also an acknowledgement of the Christian work that continues to inspire members of the organisation.
She described the Girls’ Brigade as an institution founded on discipline, faith and service and promised to support its members as they develop into future leaders.
“May the Lord strengthen us to keep building a generation rooted in love, excellence, and dedication to His work,” she added.
The ceremony also featured a coordinated parade by members of the Girls’ Brigade, showcasing discipline, teamwork and precision.
