At least 10 people have been killed after suspected bandits attacked Tofa community in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The attack occurred at night, with the assailants reportedly invading the community and killing residents before fleeing the area.
The incident was disclosed on Monday in a post on X by security analyst Bakatsine.
According to the report, several other residents sustained injuries during the attack, while dozens were reportedly abducted by the attackers.
Local sources were said to have estimated that between 38 and 40 people were taken away, although efforts were still ongoing to establish the exact number of those abducted.
The bandits also reportedly rustled a large number of livestock and looted residents’ properties during the raid.
The latest attack has heightened concerns over the activities of armed groups in parts of Sokoto State, particularly communities vulnerable to night-time raids and mass abductions.
