President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed condolences to Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan following the death of her husband, Hafidh Ameir Hassan.

In a condolence message, Tinubu described the deceased as a lifelong companion who stood by President Samia throughout her decades of public service.

The Nigerian president extended his sympathies to President Samia, her children, the Hassan family and the people of Tanzania, saying Hafidh quietly supported his wife throughout nearly five decades of service to the country.

“I received with deep sadness the news of the passing of Hafidh Ameir Hassan, husband of my dear sister and colleague,” Tinubu said.

He noted that Hafidh’s death had deprived President Samia of a lifelong companion, her children of a father and the Hassan family of one of its pillars.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Nigeria, and on behalf of my family, I extend my deepest condolences to President Samia, her children, the Hassan family and the people of Tanzania,” he said.

Tinubu prayed that Almighty Allah would grant Hafidh eternal rest and give President Samia and her family the strength to cope with the loss.
