Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, on Monday resumed official duties after completing his two-week annual leave, embarking on an extensive inspection tour of major ongoing projects across the state.
The inspection exercise, which lasted about four hours, took the governor to several project sites, where he engaged contractors and officials of supervising Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to assess progress and ensure compliance with approved standards and timelines.
Among the projects inspected were the newly acquired ground-handling equipment at the Ekiti Agro-Allied Airport and the aviation fuel dump currently under construction within the airport.
Oyebanji also inspected the ultra-modern 80-bed medical facility at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), the ongoing reconstruction of the Adekunle Fajuyi Memorial Park in Ado-Ekiti and the new Ekiti State High Court Complex.
The governor expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work at the various sites visited.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring that ongoing projects are completed on schedule while new projects are initiated in line with its shared prosperity agenda.
Oyebanji’s direct involvement in monitoring major projects reflects his administration’s approach to project supervision, which combines oversight by relevant government agencies with direct monitoring by the governor to ensure quality execution and timely completion.
The governor was re-elected for a second term in office after winning the June 20 governorship election in Ekiti State.
He is scheduled to be inaugurated for his second term on October 16, an event that will mark the first time a governor has been inaugurated for two consecutive terms in the state.
