Nollywood actor and filmmaker Kunle Afod has finally spoken publicly about his separation from his wife, Desola Afod, popularly known as Celeb Wife.
The actor’s comments come months after reports of a marital crisis between the couple circulated on social media.
Their marriage was reportedly hit by a crisis in February 2026, when Desola allegedly moved her belongings out of their matrimonial home. Neither party had publicly addressed the reports until Afod spoke about the situation in a recent interview.
Speaking with Kasnasty Sugar on YouTube, the actor appeared to attribute the separation to issues involving jealousy, infidelity allegations and difficulties associated with balancing his career and family life.
When asked about the reason for their separation, Afod acknowledged that the demands of his job sometimes left him with little time for his home.
He also made controversial remarks about trust, fidelity and the use of sex toys in relationships, suggesting that some women who accuse their husbands of cheating may also engage in behaviour they consider unacceptable when the roles are reversed.
In his response, Afod said: “Separation from my wife? This job is heavy to the extent that we sometimes don’t have time for our home.
“Did you want to hear? To all the women here, my apologies, please. I need to beg you guys first before I talk about my separation.
“Women believe that men cheat, but no man can cheat with a tree or wood. Men cheat with women. It’s easier for women to be lesbian than men to be gay.”
The actor further questioned the level of closeness between some women and their female friends, arguing that such relationships could also create suspicion between couples.
He also raised the issue of women using sex toys, particularly dildos, while questioning why some might object if their husbands engage in similar practices.
Afod argued that the use of such items could also be viewed as a form of infidelity, depending on the boundaries established within a relationship.
His remarks have added to public conversations surrounding the reported breakdown of his marriage, although he did not provide a detailed account of the specific events that led to the couple’s separation.
