Former Zamfara State governor, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari has said that President Bola Tinubu carried out a thorough and deep investigation on each of his ministerial nominees.
Yari stressed that the Senate was carrying out a thorough screening of the ministerial nominees.
Fielding questions from reporters after visiting Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday in Abuja, Yari insisted that President Tinubu made no mistake in his nominations.
According to Yari: “The Senate believes strongly that Tinubu has done a thorough and deep investigation about the credibility of each and every person brought on board.
“So we are doing our best to ensure that we thoroughly interrogate the nominees to the satisfaction of Nigerians”.
The Senate is currently screening the ministerial nominees President Tinubu transmitted to it last week.
The Senate has screened the likes of former governors Nasir El-Rufai, Dave Umahi, Nyesom Wike; presidential special adviser, Mr. Wale Edun, former commissioner, Mrs. Betta Edu, and others.
