President Bola Tinubu has nominated Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim as the Minister of Youth.
According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the President also named Mr. Ayodele Olawande as Minister of State-designate for Youth,
Both appointments are subject to screening and confirmation by the Senate.
President Tinubu had earlier announced Engr. Abubakar Momoh as Minister of Youth, but he was redeployed to the Ministry of Niger Delta Development shortly afterwards.
Ibrahim, the Minister-designate of Youth, is a medical doctor. He most recently served as the President of the Progressive Young Women Forum. She has also served as the Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals.
Olawande is a community development expert and youth leader in the governing All Progressives Congress. Between 2019 to 2023, he served in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation.
President Tinubu charges the nominees to ensure that they consistently reflect the dynamism, innovative zeal, and unyielding productivity that are synonymous with the young people of Nigeria as they discharge their duties.
